This course is for people who want to learn to fly. You'll learn a variety of skills, including different take-off and landing techniques, soaring skills and above all, how to fly safely. The best way to start is with a Tandem introductory flight. This gives you a taste of flying. If after your introductory flight, you want to continue with paragliding, the next step is to enroll in a Novice Pilots Certificate Course which will teach you about micrometeorology, different launch and flying techniques, safety procedures, etc. It is best to complete the Novice Course in a concentrated period of time. You’ll be flying solo during your first day of paragliding instruction, which is one of the advantages of the sport. Under radio supervision, you will fly solo from the training hill and progress to higher flights. All instructors are endorsed by the Hang Gliding Federation of Australia (HGFA). The waiver agreement and HGFA membership must accompany all course registrations.THIS gives you $10,000,000 public liability insurance. You need this cover to legally fly in Australia. This membership entitles a new member to engage in training. HGFA insurance is only provided under this membership type while operating under the direct supervision of an approved HGFA Instructor. |
